Learn More

Building a greater theoretical understanding of UPRT,

increasing pilot skills in preventing, recognizing, and, if necessary, recovering from an upset

Exposing pilots to aircraft upsets in a controlled environment

in order to build confidence in applying a timely and appropriate recovery action

Building awareness of how inappropriate actions increase the likelihood of accidents

when unexpected loss of control in flight (LOC-I) events occur

UPRT Safety Program

Mandatory

for all AOC Operator (Doc10 011 OACI/EASA ED decision 2015-012/R)

Recommended

to all Operators to improve safety through proper crew training

Mandatory

for any first Complex/ HPA/ MPA type rating (FCL 745A Advanced UPRT)

FLIGHT SIMULATORS ARE NOT DESIGNED TO REPLICATE UPSET FLIGHT ATTITUDES, IN FLIGHT TRAINING IS THE BEST WAY TO FACE AIRCREW TO PHYSIOLOGICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECTS OF UPSET POSITIONS and is very complementary to simulator training.
